TEST EQUIPMENT
These Test Jigs and Service Aids have been developed either as an aid to product development or factory test or as field tools. They are available to purchase.
| LittleGEM | 40657 LittleGEM is a link path audio characteristic analyser. Used to determine and compare the group delay and line reversal characteristics of audio circuits - generally in a simulcast system. | Data sheet. Engineering Bulletin #1 relates to extending the measured delay range. |
| FSK Tester | The 40653 FSK Tester is a service aid used in Cosmos systems to check the supervision FSK frequencies. | Data sheet. |
| GPSRx/PC Interface kit | This 70644 kit of parts assembles into an interface used to connect a Dalman GPS Rx to a standard PC. Running freeware (see here) it is possible to examine the polar diagram and general effectiveness of the GPS Rx installation. | . |
| Console Simulator | The 60491 Console Simulator Set has stimulus and interface features to simulate a console or control room. It provides local Tx and TT key functions and easy connection of test equipment; the accompanying cables enable it to be connected to both Cosmos Link Nodes and Solar Central Network Interfaces. The 60491 requires 12VDC; a separate AC to 12VDC converter is available. | Data sheet in construction. |
| Line Delay Test Jig | The 60492 Line Delay Test Jig may be inserted into a Cosmos LinkNode to Station line and used to change the audio delay in the circuit. This facilitates the demonstration and/or testing of the Cosmos ABDA function. The 60492 requires 12VDC; a separate AC to 12VDC converter is available. | Data sheet in construction. |
| Line Breakout Test Jig | The 60493 Line Breakout unit is a device which facilitates easy connection of test equipment to the Cosmos LinkNode to Station Line. It is simply a wired box with some terminals brought out for croc' clips. | Data sheet in construction. |
| Station Simulator Set | The 60494 Station Simulator Set has stimulus and interface features to simulate a Base Station and site environment I/O. It provides local indication of Tx key functions, Rx Mute and RSSI (voltage input - not tones) functions, evironment I/O functions and easy connection of test equipment; the accompanying cables enable it to be connected to both Cosmos Station Interfaces (Bay One) and Solar Station Network Interfaces. The 60494 requires 12VDC; a separate AC to 12VDC converter is available. | Data sheet in construction. |
| RSSI Tone Generator Test Set | The 60495 RSSI Tone Generator Test Set is a device which generates variable RSSI tones used to stimulate Cosmos and Solar Stations and Voter Line Modules. It can be connected directly to the Cosmos/Solar Stations Interfaces or via the Station Simulator Set. The device has a mixing facility such that an external test tone can be applied symultaneously and the relative levels adjusted. The 60495 requires 12VDC; a separate AC to 12VDC converter is available. | Data sheet in construction. |
| IP Network Delay Test Set | The 60496 IP Network Delay Test Set may be inserted in the connection to a Solar Network Interface's Ethernet line and used to change the delay in the circuit. This facilitates the demonstration and/or testing of the Solar delay equalization function. This device is being designed and may only be suitable for direct connection to the Solar Network Interface depending upon its data handling capacity. The 60496 requires 12VDC; a separate AC to 12VDC converter is available. | Data sheet in construction. |
| RACS Test Jigs | There is a set of Test Jigs being designed for the 30230 Remote Alarm and Control System - information will be inserted here as it becomes available. | . |
| Voter Test Jigs | This set of interface cables is used to ease local interfacing to a Voter for demonsration and/or testing. They can be ordered from the factory; however, the diagrams are available to enable local manufacture. | Data sheet/diagrams in construction. |
